This hands-on course gives directors the rare opportunity to practice audition techniques in a professional setting. Through a series of mock rehearsals with working actors, directors will learn how to build the first room — the audition room — that reflects their values, instincts, and artistic vision. CREATING THE AUDITION ROOM: AUDITION TECHNIQUES FOR DIRECTORS allows participants to explore how tone, clarity, feedback, and presence shape the audition experience for both actor and director. Create and get critiques on your casting breakdowns, audition room tactics, and how to get the best of your collaborators in the audition room. By honing their approach in real time, directors will gain the confidence to cast with purpose, lead with integrity, and create spaces that invite trust and collaboration from the very first moment.
